In the beginning was... The tool! Established in 1936 Wera quickly developed into one of Germany’s leading companies for professional hand tools. In order to achieve the required quality and precision, Wera began early with the design and build of their owns special machines for the production of screwdrivers. In the early 70’s we decided to market our know-how. Thus began the Wera- Profilator success story.
...then came the Profilator With pateneted inovations that make chip removal processes more efficient we have been creating a sensation ever since.. In 1987 we introduced our first, fully electronic tooth forming-and turn mill centre for shafts and disk type parts. In 1993 we developed the the first electroniacally controled gear pointing machine for indexing or rotative process, and in 1997 we brought the first fully independant double spindle machine to the market. In 2001 we presented our ‚Modular Design System’ which will form the basis of new developments in the new millenium.
And Now?... ... Of course, we are working on further developments- not only on processes, but also on the new shape of the co-operation with our customers. This opens up technical and and economic improvement potential which, up to now has been untapped. Together we can develop ‚optimal’ solutions.
