For roll deburring, a chamferring tool swings in to the gear. Through rolling the workpiece and tool together a chamfer on the front edge is produced. Then the resulting secondary burr is removed on the front face of the gear via deburring wheels. Slanted front sides are deburred via driven toothed wheels. Troublesome secondary burrs in the tooth flank can be removed with smoothing tools.
